Who I Am

Emily Ritenburg (she/they), BSW, RSW, MSW Candidate


Emily Ritenburg was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. In 2018, they graduated with their Bachelor of Social from the University of Regina and is currently a Master of Social Work Candidate. She has over 10 years of experience working with youth, adults, and communities in social, therapeutic, educational, and activist contexts. In their consulting and counselling practice, Emily specializes in areas related to gender and sexual diversity, sex work advocacy, addictions, trauma, and anti-oppression. 

Emily’s expertise stems from both lived experience and formal training. They are a Registered Social Worker with the Canadian Association of Social Workers and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She is the recipient of a number of scholarships and awards, including the Canadian Association of Social Work Education’s Most Promising Thesis Proposal and the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award (Circle of Friends).



Emily's Approach

Emily strongly advocates for the rights of queer, racialized, (dis)abled, low-income and marginalized communities. She has a strong understanding of the social-political impacts on mental health and well being, and brings this awareness to each space she works within.
